AFRICAN MEN’S HAIR CUT

In : Fashion, Posted by admin on Feb.02, 2010

Unlike their western counterparts, African men have no natural long hair. They are all born with black hair type which is always very stiff in many occasions.

In the 1950’s, the trend for most men was the habit of leaving those hairs to grow too bring. Men of such era used to have great delight in leaving their hairs big and well trimmed.

Today, the story has changed. It is quite amazing to see most men scraping off their hairs from time to time. In African today, 80% of men use to have their hairs scraped off completely. This is usually seen in men between the ages of 35 and above.

One common trend you will see in Africa is that the older men strive to look younger by scrapping off their hairs completely while many young men below the age of 25 strive to look older by keeping their hairs to look like the men of the 1950’s. What an irony.

Well, such is the trend in Africa. Matured men believe that scrapping off their hairs makes them look gentle, young and responsible. Actually this is true but it is not always the case with the young chaps who are always looking for ways to appear older than their ages.

African parents encourage their male children to have nice hair cut by barbing the hairs as low as possible. But these young children when they grow up in their early 20’s will always like to appear older by their acts of leaving their hairs to over grow. Such is the trend among them today.

In all, the fashion trend when it comes to the area of hair cut for African men is indeed a thing of joining the band wagon as explained above.
